Notations:
An earthquake occurred registering a preliminary magnitude of Mb 5.8 occurred at 16:10 UTC, July 19, in the Loyalty Island region of the South Pacific. The depth was fixed at 33 km for quick processing. The quake was centered about 190 miles east of New Caledonia. It was centered in about the same location as a M7.7 earthquake on May 16, 1995. There has been no reports from the region as of yet.
