An earthquake occurred registering a preliminary magnitude of Ms 6.2 (Mw 6.9) occurred at 14:22 UTC, July 19, off the coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. The depth was fixed at 33 km for quick processing. The quake was centered about 135 miles southeast of Acapulco and about 30 miles off shore from Jamiltepec. There have been no reports from the region.
