Notations:
A moderate earthquake occurred registering a preliminary magnitude of Mb 5.7 occurred at 12:22 UTC, July 19, in the Andes of central Chile. The depth determined at 26 km. The quake was centered about 260 miles north-northwest of Santiago and 45 miles east of the resorts cities of La Serena and Coquimbo, near the remote Andean foothill region of Rivadavia. There have been no reports from the region. A M6.5 quake occurred near here on June 6.
