Notations:
A strong earthquake registering a preliminary magnitude of Ms 6.8 occurred at 19:24, July 9, along the north coast of Venezuela.. The quake was centered in the Sucre Province about 45 miles east of Cumana, at Cariaco. There have been no reports as of yet, but due to the location and magnitude, severe damage and many casualities would be expected.
