Notations:

An earthquake registering a preliminary magnitude of Mw 5.9 occurred at 11:24, July 7, off the coast of central Sumatera, Indonesia.The quake was centered under the island of Nias at a depth of 30 km. Wire reports indicate the quake was sharply felt but there have been no reports of damage or injuries at this time. It was preceded five minutes earlier by a M5.0 foreshock.

This report was delayed due to some computer malfunctions at Seismo-Watch.
