Arrow points to the inital P-Wave trigger during the 20th hour of the day. Notice the relatively continuous horizontal traces prior to the Peru M7.9 earthquake, then the vigorous vertical traces extending through the end of the recording period. Earthquake traces elsewhen during the day are from a M5.2 in the eastern Mediterranean (06:52), a M5.4 in the northern Molucca Sea (14:34) and a M5.2 on the Alaska Peninsula (16:51) Varability in initial P-Wave triggers represents the time it takes for the wave to propogate through the earth.
